Michael can give us an update on this successful event at our Meeting this week.

CHANGEOVER DINNER FOR THE END OF JUNE
I am proposing we have our Changeover dinner on Thursday, 26 June. I am looking for a venue where we have a separate room where we could have a presentation on autonomous cars from a speaker in Canberra. I have this week approached the Federal Golf Club and their room fee is $500 so I think our best option is the Ottoman with a $200 room fee. If we have 20 participants that would add $10.00 each to the cost. The Ottoman has an extremely good banquet for $90.00 per head and a separate room with audiovisual facilities.

NARA PEACE PARK TOUR FOR MAJURA PRIMARY SCHOOL ON 30 MAY
On the 30 May 90 plus Year 6 students from Majura Primary School will come for a one-hour tour of the Nara Peace Park, starting at 1.00pm. To date I have confirmation from Bill and myself for guides on the day but we need at least 3 guides and if possible 4 guides as there are 4 classes coming.

VISIT TO THE CANBERRA SCOUT GROUP ON 26 MAY AT 7.15 PM
Our club helped renovate the Clubhouse and we have been invited to view the improvements and enjoy some pikelets and hot drinks with Scouts at 7.15 pm at the 3rd Scout Group Hall, Lot 19 Hovea St, O’Connor. This will be our excursion for May.

ASTRIDA IS LOOKING INTO A CASH DONATION BOX AT CANBERRA AIRPORT
Many of you would have noticed a cash donation box at the Sydney International Airport to receive foreign coins and notes. We are looking to create a similar box at Canberra Airport to raise funds for our charities. Astrida is contacting the Sydney Rotary Club to find out the supplier of the stand and obtain the cost of purchase.

Last meeting
On Thursday, 8 May we heard from Max Gancarz about his participation in the October 2024 Shitbox Rally – the challenges of driving from Bendigo to Townsville is a car costing less than $1500. It was quite an adventure!
