Welcome to another News Notes. Most important: there is no meeting at the Commonwealth Club this week. Rather, we are meeting at the Peace Bell to commemorate the UN International Day of Peace. Please join in this event, arriving around 10 am to help set up. Last week’s meeting
Last week we had a Zoom meeting, hearing from Past Club Resident and now Honorary member Terry Newman, who spoke on “The changing face of China”. He provided insights to everyday life in China and the role of the government in the economy.
Celebrating International Day of Peace – Peace Pole Ceremony
On 15 September 2023, Mooloolaba Rotary representatives meet with students from Mooloolaba State School to observe the International Day of Peace. Sixteen Year 6 students participated in a ceremony at the Peace Pole to acknowledge actions for building a more inclusive, sustainable and peaceful world for all.

Next meeting
On Thursday, 21 September, we meet at the Peace Bell to commemorate the UN International Day of Peace. The formal ceremony starts at 11 am, but any member who is free earlier is asked to come along by 10 am to help set up the chairs for the event.
