NEXT MEETING IS AT THE ROYAL CANBERRA GOLF CLUB ON 17 APRIL STARTING AT 12.30 PM
Neil Byron will speak on the topic of Indigenous People and Conservation Reserves: a Personal Journey.
EVE OF ANZAC DAY PEACE VIGIL AT THE GROUDS OF THE AUSTRALIAN CENTRE FOR CHRISTIANITY AND CULTURE IN BARTON ON 24 APRIL BEGINNING AT 5.30 PM
Michael has been asked for volunteers to assist in placing chairs and dismantling afterwards plus setting up Lanterns for the Vigil. The Lanterns are in the Chapel so only need to be placed outside compared to last year when they were taken to the site on Mount Ainslie.
We will discuss more details at our Meetings in the coming weeks.
FIVE SHORT BLASTS. A MUSIC EVENT ON LAKE BURLEY GRIFFIN ON 30 APRIL
Warrick Howieson has sent out an invitation to take part in this event. You book via the link in the email. The Canberra Music Festival to include the Peace Bell in five musical events around the Lake where the audience is taken on GoBoats to various locations including the Carillion. The idea is to sell tickets to Fellow Rotary Clubs and have the funds attributed to the Peace Bell Account that funds the Chief Ministers Peace Prize.
I have put my name down for the Musical Event. Is anyone else going to join me?
THE NEXT EXCURSION ON 24 APRIL WILL BE AT 11.00 AT OLLIES GARAGE AT 72 GLADSTONE ST, FYSHWICK
Our next Excursion is planned for 24 April at Ollies Garage in Fyshwick. The Car Museum has a wide collection of vehicles going back to the 1950/60’s including a range of Rolls Royce cars. More details will be available when we book for a 11.00 start.
The visit to the Hall Museum and Heritage Centre was said to be very interesting.
NARA PEACE PARK TOUR FOR MAJURA PRIMARY SCHOOL
Onn the 30 May, 90 plus students from Majura Primary School will come for a one-hour tour of the Nara Peace Park. I will call for at least 3 volunteers to do a tour at our Thursday meeting.
