PEACE FELLOWS VISIT TO CANBERRA
On Saturday afternoon Michael, myself, Ross, and Bill with his granddaughter Camilla took the ten visiting Peace Fellows around the Nara Peace Park for one and half hours to show how the Park can be a focal point for peace activities in the region. We went to the Southern Cross Club for an informal meal that evening and we will meet them again to hear their stories on Monday night. All these Peace Fellows competed for a place at the University of Queensland in Peace Studies. Around 600 applications were received for the ten places. They all have undergraduate degrees and experience with peace projects around the world, and come from Canada, USA, Malaysia, the Philippines, Columbia and Brazil.

We welcome them for their efforts to return to their home countries to promote peace in the world.

We hope to welcome Kavee to our Club again.

School values certificates
Majura Primary School has written to thank the Club “very much” for our contribution to the School’s values program. Following community consultation in 2024, the School’s values were revised. Subsequently new school values certificates were designed with input from students across the school. Year level teachers give certificates out on a weekly basis to students that have shown a particular value. The School also has new bookmarks that go with the book prizes funded by our Club, given to students who receive the Principals Award.
