TRIVA NIGHT AT THE HELLENIC CLUB ON THE 13TH OF MARCH
The Murrumbidgee Club had a trivia night on the 13th of March at the Woden Hellenic Club to raise funds for birthing kits. The trivia night last year raised $7,500 to help purchase 300 kits. I attended and had a great night and was fortunate enough to be on the winning table and I brought home a bottle of wine.

UPDATE OF THE CLUB WEBSITE
John Little has updated the Club website which includes a list of our future speakers. Hopefully this website can attract new members showing the work we do for the community. Well done John and his wife.

FIVE SHORT BLASTS. A MUSIC EVENT IN CANBERRA
Michael Rabey has been contacted by two Members of the Canberra Music Festival to include the Peace Bell in five musical events around the Lake where the audience is taken on GoBoats to various locations including the Carillion. The idea is to sell tickets to fellow Rotary Clubs and have the funds attributed to the Peace Bell Account that funds the Chief Ministers Peace Prize.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS ON THE 23RD OF MARCH
On Sunday the 23rd of March between 2.00 to 3.00pm Harmony Day Celebrations will be held at the Peace Bell where volunteers to the community will be honoured. Five Peace Poles will be unveiled if all goes to plan. Please make the time to honour these volunteers. Car Parking – Fund raising
A HUGE thank you to all those who gave up their time over the past months to help out the Murrumbidgee Rotary Club with their car parking events. We provided horsepower for the Festival of Speed, The Royal Canberra Show, and the Black Opal Stakes last weekend.

This is a relatively easy event for our members to participate in, we simply assist with the parking of cars.

I am happy to report, that for our efforts the Club’s share of the proceeds will be $4,000.00.
We received $1,800 for the Festival of Speed, $1,500 for the Canberra Show and $700.00 for the Black Opal Stakes.

I think everyone enjoyed working with the Murrumbidgee Club and I can see clubs helping each other out more into the future.

Thanks for all of your support.
Treasurer Ross

Tickets $85 or $70 for students.

A matter of perspective
In March Rotary celebrates Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) month. Providing clean water that is drinkable is a key WASH activity (see pages 7-8 of the current Rotary Down Under for a report on a project in Cambodia that does this).
