Hello Club Members

 

Neither the Royal Canberra Golf Club nor the Mercure Hotel are available on Thursday, so we are having a casual lunch this week.

 

We are looking for someone to edit and publish the Bulletin (using Microsoft Word and Club Runner) starting in July. This will improve your computer skills! Please contact Stephen or me to allow a training session for the handover.

 

We had 5 people to set up the Lanterns at this Vigil, including Warrick’s son Thomas. The setup took 2 hours with help from the ladies of the Chorus of Women and we had soup and bread afterwards. We were thanked by the Chorus and the vigil was well attended. Thanks to those who helped out and in particular to Warrick who was able to stay until the end to bring the lanterns back to the Church.

 

Get ready for a fun morning on the lake at 6.45 on Wednesday, 30 April. We have myself, Warrick, Ross, Michael, and Bill setting up the Striker before 7.00 am from Wednesday to Sunday so the Bell can be struck as part of the Five Blasts tour.

 

On 30 May 90 plus students from the Majura School will come for a one-hour tour of the Nara Peace Park. I think the volunteers are Bill, myself and Astrida. We can confirm these Guides closer to the date.

 

Our club helped renovate the Clubhouse and they have invited us back to view the improvements and enjoy some pikelets with them at 7.15 pm at the 3^rd Scout Group Hall, Lot 19 Hovea St, O’Connor. This will be our excursion for May.
